Cowgirl Chocolates

Comments Off 07 July 2011

One of our recent viewers introduced us to Cowgirl Chocolates and I was curious to see just what these fine gals were all about. So I went and browsed around. The response from their customers says it all! From -  Sonni McLaren warming up with “Yummy!!! Nothing like a nice cup of Spicy Hot Chocolate on a cool evening.”  To – Gerald Zhang-Schmidt saying “My next baking experiment.. chocolate and chile pepper, nyomnyom. Don’t believe me? Try Cowgirl Chocolates!” We can clearly see that others are INSPirED by her passion. We sent her our ‘Tell Us All About You’ and this is what we got!! Some pretty awesome PiCs as well! [[Love && Cowgirls]] Check them out on Facebook or on the web here and tell them we sent you over!

What is Cowgirl Chocolates mission statement? -  I don’t have one but if I did it would read…To make the best product,  and offer the best customer service, that I can in a joyful atmosphere

How did Cowgirl Chocolates get started?  – As a child my two most favorite things in the world next to my Mom were Chocolates and Art! I always loved art so I went to school to learn more and to become a teacher.  As for the chocolates…My first job at 16 years old was in a local chocolate factory and I packed and sold chocolates and I eventually because of my art back ground sculpted 8 foot giant rabbits and other things for the company.  This was in the 70’s and no one had done anything like it.  There would be little bite marks on the sculptures where little kids would try to eat them.  I realized the power of chocolate and the joy it brings to people and I liked that.  As for my art…I was a pioneer in large-scale ceramic sculpture and have taught at some of the most prestigious universities and Art Schools in the country.  My work is in museums and private collections and I have been written up in many publications

What are Cowgirl Chocolate Secrets??  Use your Common Sense, Keep it Simple, Don’t Panic, Don’t be afraid to Fail, Be intellectually curious, Be Dependable, Have Confidence in yourself, and lastly be Brave.

Advice on life?  (Life is best..) One step at a time and it should be fun and if it isn’t just figure out why make some adjustments and continue on your path…don’t be afraid to stray from the path at times.  Life is all about learning and enjoying ourselves and our adventures…and of course learning from the not so pleasant experiences.

This is THE HEAD COWGIRL with her favorite Chocolates..

Marilyn Lysohir sculpted 163 portrait busts of all the girls she graduated with from High School in Sharon, PA in 1968. This photo is taken at the Museum of Art at Washington State University with the installation of 163 portrait busts.

One of the craziest months I have had is finally over, WooHoo!!!  With projects going on in every which direction and one thing after the next going wrong, I was actually glad the Thanksgiving Holiday was upon us.  I wasn’t sure I would make it to Thanksgiving but thankfully I did and even got my pies made.

With Thanksgiving now behind us and we move towards decorating the Christmas tree and beginning our shopping (for some maybe almost done), hopefully it won’t get to hectic again.  If  it does, I want to remind you of a few lessons I had to remember the week before Thanksgiving.

~ You can only do so much in one day

~ You are only one person

~ Everything will work out

~ Do not say “What else could go wrong?” because you might find out the answer

~ Do not stress about things that are out of your control

~ Have FAITH!  Even Faith as small as a mustard seed can move mountains

~ Do not let other people bring you down

~ Stop and enjoy life especially when you feel like you don’t have the time

~ Most importantly, remember what the Holidays are truly about and cherish the time spent with family

Please remember these very simple things during the Holidays, and every day.  Life starts moving faster then we can keep up sometimes and we can only do so much.  Most of the time what we are trying to do is not life and death either.  If you are like me you are only capable of 10 things in a day but try to accomplish 100 things in a day.  It doesn’t always work out (if ever) and we are left feeling drained, tired, and unappreciative of the things around us.  Stop and refresh from time to time.

I hope your Holiday Season is blessed beyond measure and when you begin to get a little hectic you will remember what the true meaning of the season is about when you stop and refresh.

Be sure to check out the many exciting things CC has in store for you this Holiday Season.

Recognizing Your Calling

Sunday In The Saddle

Recognizing Your Calling

Comments Off 14 November 2010

After reading this devotional I realized that I needed to follow what I truly wanted to do with Sunday in the Saddle and in my own life.  To stop listening to what the world around me says to do and listen to what God calls me to do!  I hope you enjoy our first addition of Sunday in the Saddle.

Recognizing Your Calling

Natural born gifts! Those are the God-given talents God has blessed you with in order to fulfill his calling.  There may be some underlying concern or anxiety over trying to determine where to go in your life and the reasons for doing so.  Searching for the right direction, the designated path, doing the right thing can be frustrating, stressful and very tedious.

All of us have things God has equipped us with to follow his calling.  Recognizing that is essential. More times than not we tend to fight the things we’ve been blessed with.  We do it if for no other reason than it isn’t what we originally had planned for our lives.

We all have a preconceived notion of the direction we figured our lives would go.  Perhaps we wanted an easier way out, we aimed for monetary fulfillment, we listened to other people telling us we could or could not do something or perhaps we just felt inadequate to begin with.

Regardless of the reasons God has time.  He will help us in due time to become all he needs us to be.  Some things just take more preparation than others.  Remember it took Moses forty years to take a ten day trip.

We all have powerful dreams and that is as it should be.  We all have potential toward greatness.  Opportunity, great and small, is there for us to embrace.

God gave you all you need to be the best you can be.  There isn’t anything in his plan he won’t help you do.  You have all the inborn talents God knew you needed to make it work.

Sometimes our greatest fear is failure and the unknown.  Either way it is God’s call.  Stop fighting him and let him use you.  Take a deep breath, calm down and embrace the moment.  The first step is recognizing it is God’s plan to bless you.  Remembering he loves you gives you an added boost and his power to succeed.

When God knocks at the door answer him with the words, “How can I serve you, Lord?”  That is the first and important step in the right direction.

Quit fighting God and give him the time to work.  We are where we are because that is where God needs us to be!

Be Blessed This Day!

Some of my best advice

Some of my best advice

Comments Off 06 October 2010

It seems here lately I have been doing some major soul searching.  I don’t know if it is the passing of my thirtieth birthday or just knowing that I am not doing everything that I want to be doing.  Nonetheless, I finally found the best advice and it jumped off the page and practically screamed at me.

I have sought the advice of many people lately, some being friends and family, some are mentors, but the best advice I found came from the Bible.  That’s right!  From Colossians ‘Whatever you do, work with all your heart’.  It doesn’t matter what you want to be or what you want to do (or even how many things you want to do), just do it with all your heart.  What you put your time into will be rewarded.

Since starting Cowgirl Confidential there have been several other things that I truly want to do.  I have worried and fretted over these things.  Even some of the things that I am doing here on Cowgirl Confidential I have fretted over.  I was worried that if I talked about God or the Bible I might cause a stir or even lose readers.  I very well might!  If you decide to stop reading Cowgirl Confidential because I talked about God, you are in the wrong place to begin with.  This is a place about what I believe in, what I want to talk about, and what I think other people share an interest in.  One of those things is the life of the Cowgirl, one of those things is the fashion that I love, and one of those things above all is God.

So, I wanted to share my advice and my thoughts with my readers.  You may also be struggling with what it is you want to do.  I know many people that want to further their career or branch off into something else.  Although, like most things it all takes time, I say do it!  Simply put, do it!  Put all of your heart into whatever it is you want to do and go for it.  We all learn over time that this life we have is cut short in the blink of an eye and you should not live with regrets.  Whatever you do, do with all your heart!

That’s the best advice I can give, from one of the best places to get advice.
