What is Cowgirl Chocolates mission statement? -  I don’t have one but if I did it would read…To make the best product,  and offer the best customer service, that I can in a joyful atmosphere

How did Cowgirl Chocolates get started?  – As a child my two most favorite things in the world next to my Mom were Chocolates and Art! I always loved art so I went to school to learn more and to become a teacher.  As for the chocolates…My first job at 16 years old was in a local chocolate factory and I packed and sold chocolates and I eventually because of my art back ground sculpted 8 foot giant rabbits and other things for the company.  This was in the 70’s and no one had done anything like it.  There would be little bite marks on the sculptures where little kids would try to eat them.  I realized the power of chocolate and the joy it brings to people and I liked that.  As for my art…I was a pioneer in large-scale ceramic sculpture and have taught at some of the most prestigious universities and Art Schools in the country.  My work is in museums and private collections and I have been written up in many publications

What are Cowgirl Chocolate Secrets??  Use your Common Sense, Keep it Simple, Don’t Panic, Don’t be afraid to Fail, Be intellectually curious, Be Dependable, Have Confidence in yourself, and lastly be Brave.

Advice on life?  (Life is best..) One step at a time and it should be fun and if it isn’t just figure out why make some adjustments and continue on your path…don’t be afraid to stray from the path at times.  Life is all about learning and enjoying ourselves and our adventures…and of course learning from the not so pleasant experiences.

Marilyn Lysohir sculpted 163 portrait busts of all the girls she graduated with from High School in Sharon, PA in 1968. This photo is taken at the Museum of Art at Washington State University with the installation of 163 portrait busts.

As each year passes and a new begins it seems as if we all have our grand New Years Resolutions to only fall short and get stuck in a rut.  We do the same things each day, scared to jump out and try something.  You never know what you are going to get until you stick your head out and TRY something new.  If you fall…well that’s the glory of it, get back up and try again.

~Obstacles are put in our way to see if what we want is worth fighting for!~

So, whatever it is that you have hem-hawed around and been afraid to step out and try.  Do it now!  As the media has shown us, life is short and you wake up one day and you have missed many opportunities.  Who knows where you would be today if you’d reached out and grabbed one as you were passing it by.
