I Want to Know You!

I Want to Know You!

Daniel came running into the room and jumped across the couch into my lap.

“Did you know my hairs are numbered?” he said excitedly. “My Sunday school teacher said the hairs on our head have numbers. God put them there.”  His enthusiasm was almost contagious.  No wonder scripture teaches we should become like little children.

God does know us.  From the hairs of our head to the inner most parts of our being He knows each and every one of us.  He knows our every movement, our intentions, our motivations, our thoughts and all those things we wish he didn’t know.

In the soft silence of our beginnings God was there first where he originated our most inward and private parts.  Before I ever have a thought myself God knows its origins, its purpose, its destination and the end result.

Despite my failings and misgivings, my mistakes and my wrong choices God, who loves me beyond all understanding, knows what makes me tick.  He knows what will set me off in a fit of anger and he knows what will bring me to my knees.

God has a plan.  ”All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.”

“I want to know you, when you breathe I want to breathe with you and when you cry I want to feel the tears” (from a song recorded by Jodi Rogers).

God loves you in all your splendor or in all your garbage, whichever the case may be.   He loves you where you are right now and only wants for you to accept that love.  He, who reached into your life when you were merely a tiny embryo, wants to change you forever.

He knows what you are and what you can become.  Let the Lord of Lords fulfill his purpose for you with a love that endures forever.  He will never abandon the work of his hands.

Fulfill the promise God has for you by saying yes to a love you cannot fathom or understand.  Remember He knows you and the reasons you do the things you do.  And better than that—He loves you anyway!

Be Blessed This Day!
